Week two...and gaining weight

The first few days were definitely an adjustment as we were figuring out feedings, burping, and just plain adjusting. But now into week 2, a few calls to the newborn helpline and doctor/nurses appointment, we are in full swing of parenthood and loving every minute of it. We've even had a few adventurous outings. Our little string-bean (because he is just so lanky) has turned the corning and gaining weight.

The first look at Logan Robert Josef Nitschke

On August 1st at 2:35 am we welcomed Logan Robert Josef Nitschke to the world. It was a long 30 hours of labour, drug free and he was well worth the wait. Here are a few shots from his first days of life. No bias here of course, but he is the most beautiful baby ever.

Day with the ducks

So mom and dad are being active trying to get this little guy out. So, we went to Rifle Bird Sanctuary in Lander for a walk and to hang out with the birds, mostly ducks and geese, but it was a great day for the two of us to just hang out together before 2 become 3.

Out with Grandma and Auntie Gabriela

So, last weekend was mom's birthday and Gabriela and I took her out for a lovely dinner. And with Gab's new camera in hand, she took what might be some of the last belly shots until Logan arrives, which will hopefully be soon. Due date in only 5 days away...eeek!

8 1/2 months...and still living it up

Last weekend I got a lovely visit from a very good friend of mine that I had not seen in over 5 years. It was her first trip to Vancouver and even though I was 8 1/2 months pregnant, I had to show her some of Vancouver's beautiful sites. Still feeling great and can't wait for the little guy to come in only a couple of weeks.

28 weeks -- and growing

4 weeks later and definitely a bit bigger. Now 7 months pregnant. It's still hard to believe. Events of the past 4 weeks, more moving and starting to kick me in the ribs and not being able to climb up 6 flights of stairs without thinking I will die at the end.

24 weeks -- and finally looking pregnant

Well, I finally look pregnant, although this picture seems to make me look more pregnant than I really am. But baby boy is kicking up a storm and feeling GREAT!!!
