Christmas comes early

So for Christmas this year we wanted to get Logan a jolly jumper, but we got a jumperoo instead, taking up less room in our house. Now after a lot of discussion, we decided to give it to him early. One, we are not going to be in Melbourne for Christmas, two, it would probably give us 30 extra minutes a day to do things around the house -- hands free and, we want to get as much time out of this jumperoo as possible, since he grows out of things so quickly. So, Christmas came for Logan a little early.

So, here it is...

I think Logan thinks it's a very large teething ring:

But, once in the contraption, someone had a lot of fun!!! Seeing the world, bouncing around, lots of new toys and a lot of giggles. Who could ask for more?

Soccar Star

Soccer star in our midst? Now that Loggie has mastered grasping, he loves to grip onto his little squishy soccer ball. He can hold it, beat it to a pulp. He can do the odd little kick with it too (is it intentionally? probably not).

Who loves the Canucks?

This little guy is like his dad, he loves watching hockey, especially the Canucks!

An exciting day adventure

So, now that we have a car of our own, it was time for us to do an exciting day trip. Well this was the plan, drive to Marysville (about 2 1/2 hours away) and have lunch, take a look as Stevenson Falls, stop off at a winery and then checkout some wildlife at Healsville Sanctuary. So, how did we do? Well, we made it to Marysville and had a great lunch. Stevenson Falls, not so much. The road was closed due to the fires last year, so that was a no-go. We stopped off at a winery in Healsville and bought a couple of bottles, very tasty. But by the time we got to the Sanctuary we would have only had an hour before it closed. So, another no-go. Well, there is always next time.

This pic is actually taken at a rest stop in the forest along the way...the little guy was hungry and wet. But we couldn't resist taking a pic in one of dad's favorite places.

Then, off for lunch..great food and of course some photo ops:

And a couple of pics of the new member of the family...our WAGON!

Logan on the move

This is the way the Logan is put down in his crib for bed.

However, in the last few nights, we go in to check on him at around 5 am because of the hot/cold temps here, and lately we have found this---Logan 180 degrees in his crib, and he is still asleep. He has become such a mover and a shaker in the last week we know we are going to have our hands full when this guy learns to crawl. At the rate he's going, I do not think we are so far away.

I think he thinks it's pretty funny, or maybe it's the pink sheets he's sleeping on these days :)

Hanging Out at Home

This last week has not been that exciting as Mommy slipped a disk in her back and was pretty much at home recuperating. We were lucky to have Daddy at home taking care of both of us. We could not have survived the week without him ;). We love Daddy!

Daddy showed Logan his work on the computer, but Loggie focus on playing and practicing his sitting skills!

Logan is starting to get a little less camera shy and showing some gummy smiles.

This is pretty much what I did with Logan last week :)

Watcha Looking At?

Need we say more?

Our Little Garden

On Sunday we had a big adventure out of the house. We were going to go to CERES, the community park and have brunch and go to the nursery and buy a tomato plant to add to our little herb garden. Sounds pretty nice, even though it was 30++ degrees here again. But, we needed to venture out. It was going well, we had a lovely brunch in the park and then we head up to the nursery and got a huge tomato plant, but of course we needed to get a planter. Of course, then mommy wants a couple of strawberry plants, yum! And Daddy is looking at a couple of beautiful flowering plants (grevalias) Then we need a couple of pots for that. So, we get everything ready to go and Logan starts to melt down, probably bored and hot. So, we quickly pay and he's totally freaking out --- Did I mentioned that we walked, about 10 blocks. So, then I decided to walk quickly home with him, while poor daddy is stuck with carrying one large tomato plant, 2 flowering grevalias, 2 strawberry plants, and 3 wooden planters...in 30+++ heat. Poor thing, he was sweating buckets by the time we got home. But, the results have turned out beautifully.

Chillin Weekend -- Melting Weekend

We have had a pretty relaxing weekend so far, for two reasons:

1. Mommy Mon has pulled a ligament in her back - OUCH. I have resorted to not picking Logan up for the weekend. But we still had quality time watching the last horse race of the spring carnival.

2. It's so hot here again. Another 30+ this weekend, so Logan and Daddy had a morning nap together before the heat came!

Snakes???

Yes, the reality of living in Australia, snakes. And we went to visit Daddy at work the other day and there have been TWO tiger snakes sightings -- YIKES! So, we are trying to train this little guy early..

Camera Shy

Little Logan is smiling up a storm these days, even a giggle or two. However, whenever I get the camera out to take a picture of that toothless grin, he gets all camera shy and I usually get this expression:

However, in a sneaky way, I was able to catch a couple of glimpses of his cute little smile. They aren't the best, but you get the idea!

He also has really discovered his feet lately. He's been grabbing them and just staring at them. Any day I bet they will make their way into his mouth :)

Some other cute shots from this week. He loves hanging out in our bed, and Logan blowing bubbles to perfection
