One year old Alena

Where did that year go, I have no idea. I can't believe our baby girl turned 1. We decided to have a calmer birthday for her than Logan and since it was also father's day in Australia we decided to have a family day. We headed to the forest and we could not ask for a more beautiful day.

Logan was very excited about our trip to the forest.

Dad and Alena celebrating their day

Look mummy, snow.

Logan by the "big tree". Seriously, that's what this walk was called, the big tree walk.

Miss Lena enjoying the fun in the sun. She is such a big girl now.

Sibling love.

Practising his fire building skills.

A rare family photo.

What kid doesn't love being tossed up into the air?

My turn carrying little miss. She definitely was entertained with my hair, as she kept yanking at it. Little miss trouble!!

After all that fresh air and fun in the sun these two slept ALL the way home.

And then we had a lovely family dinner and Alena, with Logan's help, blew out the candle on her little butterfly carrot cake.

The leftovers :)

Logan turns 3

I cannot believe that our little man is 3!!! We celebrated for days and it was very special because it truly was the first birthday that he really understood what birthday meant. One the actual day we had a nice dinner and a cute little chocolate cake. Logan loved it!

Logan wearing full hockey gear, thanks Gramma!

I started baking the next day for the weekend birthday bash! cupcakes in ball formations and his special air plane cake.

The calm before the birthday storm a little jump on the trampoline.

Alena was enjoying herself too

And then all the guests arrived and we just forgot to take more pictures until --- the cake! He was very excited!

Yum, blue icing.

Then, Sunday we spent a great family day ice skating and going to the amusement park.

Logan loves this caterpillar roller coaster. Just wait until he is big enough to go on the ones that go upside down. I can hardly wait, I love those things too :)

And there we have it. A great few days of celebrating three great years that this amazing little man has given us!!!! Love you mr. monkey!!!

Photo Dump

Well, I know it has been a long time since i did some posts, so I have a lot of pics here. I have decided to do a photo dump (I am sure this is going to be the first of many in the future). So here is what has happened, in brief, in the last 3 months.

Craig went to Vancouver for a weeks, so the kids and I went to Creswick to visit Nina and Julio. There the kids had a great time at the Ballarat Wildlife park, getting close and personal with kangaroos, koalas, wombats and snakes.

We also did some cut and pasting -- yes, I have a crafty side...no not really, but I try and fake it for the kids sake.

A couple of pot heads

It was cold, but gorgeous and we did a little trip to the beach. Alena's first real play in the sand, and she LOVED IT! And Logan loved throwing rocks in the water, watching the airplanes and seaplanes fly by and even some sky divers.

not a bad spot for a coffee

Spitting image of his dad here!!

Craig came back from Canada and brought Logan his first hockey helmet, lucky boy.

Lena has started to call, this looks like the on-all-fours crawl, but our little miss is actually a bum-shuffler, which is really cute. She has learned it is the best way to multi-task -- scoot with one hand and carry something in the other.

The both love their Elmo jammies.

Caught in a naughty act.

Another nice, cool day. The perfect day to feed the ducks.

Hellooooo!!!!

Logan teaching Lena to play hall hockey

Wombat Bend Park, an amazing little park with some amazing equipment. A great morning for the kids to have a big play.

We did a trip to Mt. BawBaw for a play in the snow. We also managed a great first fishing trip at one of the fish farms, some yum dinner for us all.
