Boating on the Yarra

Still no baby, so this weekend we had to take advantage of the gorgeous weather that we are having at the end of winter. 18 degrees, not bad for winter, is it. So, we decided to go the the Fairfield boathouse and take Logan on his first little boat ride. He's been talking about wanting to go on a boat for a while, so here was our chance.

We rented a paddle boat and got our safety jackets. This was the smallest one we could find for our little man. He was not too impressed by it, but he tolerated it.

So, with Gramma at the front and Dad steering us up the calm river, we were off.

We were two happy little campers in the back.

Logan was definitely bright eyed looking at all the ducks, geese and interesting items floating in the water.

checking out the passing kayak -- pretty exciting stuff.

"Cheese"

We cruised under a tree branch and Logan was pretty giddy.

And then for a few minutes Dad let Logan help him paddle back downstream. It was a little more difficult than we thought. So then Logan sat back down with mum at the back.

Calm before the storm

Well, after this weekend life is going to get a bit more interesting. Gramma is arriving tomorrow and baby number 2 will hopefully be arriving shortly after her arrival. So, we decided to take this last weekend of "just the 3 of us" and relax (along with some cleaning of course.)

Logan chilling on the couch in the morning watching dad doing a funny dance to some of his favorite tunes.

After a haircut, birthday party, too much sugar and a great nap, Logan enjoyed some hockey in the backyard. One of his favorite past times. He obviously has inherited dad's skill.

Sunday was an amazing 20 degree winter day, so we headed out to enjoy the sunshine. Logan helped fill up the pram tire with air before we headed to one of our favorite places, CERES Community Market.

After some coffees and babycino we went to the nursery for some plants for our little garden and finally......

took a belly shot! So for all of you who have been dying to see one, here you go!

Looking at seedlings isn't one of Logan's favorite pastimes, but he loves to check out the tractor in the sandpit.

Back at home helping dad plant. Too bad those gloves are getting in the way.

Werribee Zoo

We have invested in a zoo membership. It has been fantastic. Unlimited visits to 3 zoos (Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo, and Healsville Sanctuary.) So, on those weekends where we are not too sure what to do....go to the zoo. Plenty for Logan to see. Here he is pretty much only interested in BIIIIIIG rock!

These cute little zebra "statues" are a hit with the kids.

We were able to watch the feeding of the wild dogs. Logan took great interested with these dogs "woofing" down their fresh meat. Not too sure at times though.

And what was more entertaining at the Hippo area? Not the hippos, this boat for the kids to play on was definitely more fun.

"Two-Two"

So Logan had his big day! My little baby is now two years old. I can hardly believe. We had a little birthday party for him on the weekend with a couple of his friends, and the theme, one of his favorite things of course....TRAINS!

We managed, in the middle of winter, to luck out with a beautiful day of 18 degrees. So instead of squishing everyone in the house, we really got to utilize our big backyard.

However, we did have the "balloon room" inside, which I have to say was a super big hit with the little ones.

And then the cake came out, yummy, yummy!

Followed by opening presents. He sure was a spoiled little boy this year.

One happy two year old. My sweet boy!
