Big Boy Bed

This was one of Logan's last nights in his crib. In his favorite "baby pose" position with as many balls as he could have in his bed. he really is ridiculous when it comes to balls. But this weekend, the new big boy bed arrived! Time for the change over...and we were hoping for the best and expecting the worse with this crib party animal. we were going to give him the chance to escape confinement.

A beautiful day for crib breakdown and major room/dust clean.

Logan helping out with the vacuuming

And showing off his handy man skills.

Ta da, new bed. Such a cute little boy room.

Trying out the bed for the first time, and I think someone is really lovin it...

...and sleeping well too

So, 4 sleeps into the new bed and the worst hasn't happened. He was more upset that the rocking chair isn't in his room anymore, just no room for it anymore. But the new little stuff car has crept into and replaced the need for the chair on day two. Phew!

Big brother-to-be

someone is practicing his big brother skills! He's a natural!

Vacation turns staycation

After our return from our brief vacation at Lakes Entrance, we decided to enjoy the last few days of our holidays in Melbourne, being a tourist in this city. The days were beautiful. First stop, we decided to take the train and walk around the river around downtown. We got off a stop early and walked from the MCG all the way down that Yarra. It was beautiful. Logan particularly enjoyed playing with his bouncy ball at the MCG

Statue of footy players.

ball????

Ball!!!!!

There is so much construction around town these days. So we had to stop and watch the "diggy" and "me-mix" do their stuff (me-mix = cement mixer)

The next day, beautiful as well and we took Logan to the zoo. Not too many pics this day. But these lorokeets are just gorgeous.

And then we checked out the elephants, this statue caught Logan's eye.

And then we went into the seal/shark/penguin exhibit. The best part was this whale hologram on the floor. It kept moving around and Logan thought it was hilarious.

And that was pretty much the end of our vacation. Logan got sick near the end, so we had a few relaxing days at home, watched some hockey playoffs (boo Canucks) and just enjoyed the family life at home.

Lake Entrance Holiday

After lots of yes, no, maybe so, we decided to go on a little holiday. What started as a thought to go to Fiji turned into a road trip to Lakes Entrance, about 5 hours from here. Right on the ocean, but surrounded by lakes as well. Now, it was brave to go in June. In Vancouver, summer is on its way, but here winter has arrived.

We were lucky the first few days. It was cold, a bit windy, but BEAUTIFUL. Logan really loved going for walks around this place. One of his favorite places was looking at all the boats.

As previous post have shown, Logan loves ducks. He saw these black swans and started going "bread, bread, duck, ducks" So, we went down to feed the very friendly swans some bread and that made Logan really happy. However, when he saw the rocks, his attention turned to throwing those into the water to make lots of splashes.

We checked out ninety-mile beach and decided to take a rare family shot.

Ok, how cute is he?

Looking for shells.

Taking a bit of a break to eat a cracker.

This picture is pretty much to show that baby #2 is growing. Yup, a bit of a belly is showing, I think I'm about 26 weeks here.

From our apartment we went down for a walk to another beach just around sunset. It actually was a lot warmer here at this time because the wind wasn't howling.

So that makes it the perfect weather for a little beach soccer.

The next day we went for a hike in the forest, Dad's favorite thing. And it was another beautifully cold day. Checked out this cool bridge, Logan walked about an hours worth on this hike. He really is a little nature lover. :)

Well, our 10 day vacation pretty much ended there, 4 days later. The weather turned really, really bad. To the point we would be stuck in our hotel room for days, so that is not much fun. So back to Melbourne, where the weather was really good and our little vacation turned into more of a staycation.

First Hair Cut

Logan has beautiful hair, it is fine, but beautiful. It has taken me a long time to accept that it had to be cut one day. But after realizing it was starting to look like a mullet in the back, wings at the side and he was brushing it out of his eyes I decided it was time to cut the baby locks.

There was no way I was taking sharp scissors to my little man's head, so I tracked down one of the few children's hair cutting shops. We made it a big family outting so that Dad could hold him down if need be so I could take pictures. We started well. A cut little car for Logan to drive and "Bob the Builder" on the TV in front of him. He was distracted.

Just a little off the top please...

This was going WAY better than I expected. He is such a good little boy.

And now, Logan is ready to sport his new doo in style. He really is starting to look like a little boy now.
