A Christmas rundown

I know it has been a month since I last posted, but things have been a bit hectic, so once again it will be an blast of many postings...so here is the first one -- Christmas.

It was our first real Christmas with Logan this year as we were in New Zealand last year. We got a tree and Logan helped us decorate it. Although, he was not that interested in putting ornaments on the tree, more just taking them out of the box and finding the little ball ornaments and trying to throw them around the house. If it's shaped like it ball, it must be a ball right? or so Logan thinks.

We did a little bit of Christmas baking. Logan and his buddy Anders were involved in baking Gingerbread people and also some shortbread. I decided to tackle some of the Novotny Czech cookies (pretty much just the bear claws, and I have to say, SUCCESS). And Craig tried a hand and making rum balls, can't have Christmas without rum balls right?

Then Logan and I ventured downtown one day to check out the Myer Christmas display. First the windows. Now, I cannot remember what the Bay windows were like in Vancouver, but I don't think they were such a big deal. I got to Myer at about 10 am and there was a line for about 30 minutes. Now, Logan is not much of a fan of the stroller these days and I did what I could to keep him happy in it, but it didn't last long. Juggling him and the stroller was a bit of a challenge, but the old couple behind me were nice enough to push my stroller. However, the windows were pretty amazing, but worth the wait with a toddler? I'm still sitting on the fence about that one. After that we went to Santaland, where the line to see Santa was so long that I was so thankful I had just gone to the mall a couple of weeks before (however, maybe this Santa smiled??) We did however stand inline for the little Santa train, which was DEFINITELY worth the wait. It was only about 15 minutes and I was able to park the stroller. And even though Logan was squirming and flailing everywhere and I found my patience slowly lowering, we made it. He was so excited and in aw of the whole thing, it was so cute. I was tempted to stand inline again, but the line looked twice as long. I wasn't pushing my luck!

Now, here is the bad part. We got so into opening gifts and such, that we didn't actually take any pics. Bad mummy and daddy. I can however say that Logan still wasn't really into opening the gifts or even playing with the paper. As soon as the first car had made it's appearance, he didn't seem interested anymore.

Anyway, Christmas 2010 was a success. Can't wait to do it again next year :)
